Greeting cards

A movement, which we all believe to know, leads us to the marvelous. Because movement is a challenge for those who are frozen in the moment.
It's fabulous, so let's go to the new year.

2023

A variant for the star fisherman, the moment when the fisherman holds the star in his hand.

To wish you a Happy New Year 2022, I took a watercolor from When the sea project.
There is of course a complete article on this project, just consult it in the landscapes section..
I wish you a good sea. May your ship sail above the waves, all sails out, toward sidelined shores.

2021

The mountain drawn by Loriane is in fact the 3rd track of the symphonic album composed by Olivier, alias OAMM.
One song per month, twelve in total, from December to November, which ends the series with a requiem. The paintings were put together in a notebook, but for February - the mountain, I remade the painting in a larger format.

2020

One more richochet on the Medina of Casa, this cannot be refused.
You have to see the whole project to understand the concept. The greeting card takes up the markers: scenario, colorful portraits, little winks here and there.

- Have you any slippers?
We had a good laugh with Loriane when we composed this humorous drawing, inspired by the boutiques of Casa.

2018

Paris, Casa, Montreal.
The card was entirely drawn by Loriane, on a digital tablet. It is a relief to hand over the work to the younger ones.

A card inspired by a walk on the Li River.
Quite frankly, I struggled on this painting. I did it again several times, Gabrielle's face was never done right.
There are times like this in an artist's life when nothing goes right.

2013

In a new episode of XIII, 2 secret agents wish you a Happy New Year from the people's palace.
We had just returned to Romania.
The idea for the menu came to us while visiting Casa Popului.

Portrait of the three children in the blue light of Chefchaouen.

I carried out a lot of tests, more or less convincing. That watercolour brought me a lot of trouble. .

2011

Very first greeting card painted in watercolor.
We are in 2010, and I discovered watercolor that summer.
Bali was exotic, displacing and captivating.

11 years of watercolor cards

The tradition of sending personalized Christmas cards goes back much longer. But from 2010, it's one watercolor per year that serves as a greeting card.
So I continue with the cards from previous years, my tests in digital drawing or quite simply scribbled on a sheet of paper.

2010

Head in the stars
The 2010 card is a kind of photo montage. The silhouette of the children is embedded in a montage of images (distant mountains, starry sky, shining star). A poetic and artistic high-tech photo version.

2009

In front of the Kremlin
Welcome to Moscow for this Russian version of the greeting card. Against the backdrop of a snowy red square (beautiful contrast), the troupe sports beautiful chapkas (detail added by the artist for the sake of integrating local customs and costumes!).

2008

But where are Gauthier and Gabrielle?
The 2008 card is the result of joint work: drawing of the characters by Emmanuel and creation of the tree and coloring by Gabrielle using a computer. Top-down illustration of the hidden images of the almanacs on the principle "Where's Charlie?"

2007

La mulți ani!
The 2007 map was a big job. Indeed it is a mini-comic which required the writing of a scenario, the location shots for the sets of the illustrations and the staging of the characters. The result is 2 comic pages.
I can't remember which software I used ...
